Rebuilding work on fine quality grand pianos
Ackroyd Pianos undertake full and partial rebuilds on quality grand pianos. A rebuild is always done using genuine parts; through years of experience the final result is a piano that looks, and feels like a new piano. In the case of vintage pianos, retaining their 'golden period' sound is always aimed for.
If needed, pianos are fitted with complete new actions and keys; most are fitted with new dampers, strings and tuning (wrest) pins.
Soundboard repairs, casework re-finishing etc. are also undertaken.
Piano Servicing
Servicing work is very important and needs to be done once a year; this annual service is often a half day's work. Your piano will be cleaned inside and out, the regulation of action checked and adjusted, friction points in the action treated with anti-friction compound, hammers checked over, tuning and voicing evened up.
A full service (every 1 to 3 years depending on amount of use the piano gets) can take from one to two days and will include all the above work but will be far more intensive and includes hammer re-shaping.
To bring your piano back to 'as new' condition and to protect your investment, make sure that you get your piano serviced regularly by an experienced technician.
